China organizers needs to be careful, loosening rules will cause an uproar, following the strict covid protocol will also cause an uproar.    Might as well do a toss coin to make a decision.

well, this was quite unexpected flop from the Czechs...

Anyway, they still have everything in their own hands but now must beat Japan to avoid the overseas giants

Huge upset: :DEN beat :CZE 3-2. They lost all their games at the Worlds last year and got relegated. First ever win for :DEN at the Olympics.

If :DEN beats :SWE and :JPN beats :CZE then Denmark qualifies for the quarterfinals O.o

:CZE is actually in real danger of missing out on the QF entirely now.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
