The Challenge will be for all the nations that did not advance to the Round of 16, including the 2 nations defeated in the repechage round. So there will be 14 nations in total in the Challenge Trophy after they drop out of the main tournament. The 2 nations that lose in the repechage round go straight into the quarter-finals of the Challenge Trophy. The remaining 12 nations play-off for a place in the quarter-finals. It's a simple knock-out style format. There will be a 3rd / 4th place play-off in the Challenge Trophy also. However, I have decided against other placement matches because I don't think it's necessary to find out which songs are ranked at the bottom and also there is more than enough matches in this tournament in total. dcro
Vojthas 949 Posted July 22, 2020 #643 Share Posted July 22, 2020 Houston, we've had a problem. I'm afraid that the accreditation system has been hacked. I met two strange characters, who ran away when I spotted them. It seems they were afraid of deconspiration, however, they've lost their accreditation, which seems to be fake, even though there is a holographic stamp on it. Olympian1010 7,973 Posted July 22, 2020 #644 Share Posted July 22, 2020 You guys are giving me some good laughs this morning. I love the creativity @Vojthas and @Griff88. Somehow the podcast crew got roped into reporting on this madness too “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. OlympicIRL 5,532 Posted July 22, 2020 Author #645 Share Posted July 22, 2020 So we are just 15 minutes away from the first match of the TISC Special. Just a reminder that 8 judges will decide the outcome of each group match. Therefore teams could end up tied on a scoreline of 4-4. There are 3 points on offer for a win, 1 point for a draw and no points for a defeat. The order the judges' votes are revealed is completely random so there is no specific pattern, nor will the reveals be strategically placed in order to make more drama. It was pre-randomised so they could appear in any order. Just like in sports events, it doesn't follow a script. Good luck to everyone involved in today's matches Vic Liu and Olympian1010

I guess we could do that as nations are eliminated? Need to think first is there any reason why we shouldn't reveal the user who entered the song after they are eliminated? Will it have any impact in the later voting stages? The other option is to wait until the very end and have a fun game trying to figure out who was who I'm inclined for the second one.
