Figure Skating at the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026

Recommended Posts

What a prelude to the individual competitions. For both the Japanese and American skaters that will be the motivation they will use to try to win. For someone like Ilia who clearly felt the weight of the moment he doesn’t have to worry any more about being an Olympic champion anymore.

On the other hand, these Japanese skaters with a hunger to win could be scary.

Sadly, we failed the Japanese team I fear :(

Gogolev knocking out France helped US too.  Got C&B a sure 10, didn’t need to worry about the French in the Free Dance.

Oh Ilia I think still on preassure. He want to be a winner in individual with massive score and prkbably historic routine with score from the jumps.

Deanna being injured also probably cost Japan gold / allowed the US to win gold.

Really when it’s that close it comes down to the tiniest thing.

I really hope Deanna makes it back for the Pairs.

Agree it is those little things.

I hope too. Not optimistic at all for their medal chances but it would suck for Deanna and Max to make it this far and not get to compete.

That's the goal, although it should be noted that because of the schedule, everyone in Italy expected today to be the biggest day of the Olympics in terms of total medals. We had to win at least 4-5 in order to be on par for 20 by the end of the Games.

Tomorrow, for instance, we will only have 1 (or half, more accurately) chance in alpine skiing.

And it was perfectly achieved, well done :yes

    • No surprise — it’s the result of months of controversy, including media backlash. It all started with the federation’s decision not to select Romei, who is very close to Costantini, for the Olympic Games, and to call up Rebecca Mariani instead. In recent months, the Romeo/Costantini duo allegedly tried to push out Lo Deserto as well, and these are the results…

    • Stefania Constantini and her team out of Italy are heading their separate ways   Very confused to be honest, I know they had a bad season but I didn't expect to this happening... there's no real other options for any of them, unless they're focusing on Rock League/mixed doubles.   Italy has no other top female team, and the juniors aren't looking promising either, the last time they qualified a team to a World Juniors (not as host) was in 2014. Doubt the Italian Federation would let Constantini step away from the four-player game, she's too much of a talent, my guess is she'll "be forced" to go with Mariani (I mean her and Mosaner don't like each other much), still I have no idea who else they'd pick up given it's all five of them going their separate ways. Maybe Mathis will go back to representing Switzerland??
