So why does he do it, if there is not any benefit?

Just muscle memory, he's been delivering stones like this for his entire career. He's even done it against teams ranked way below him, that he would beat regardless. IRRC Hasselborg has said that they don't agree with Edin that touching granite impacts the game at all (same with Lachat on Schwaller, and I'm sure there's a few others I'm missing), and them and Edin are not only good friends but represent Sweden together. Brushing the granite with your finger has no impact on the speed or direction of the stone, and even if it did Jacobs isn't the only one to do it and it happens more times than people realize...

I wanted to respond to this, but I'd rather not talk about it again like I said

Don't be dramatic "destroyed the sport" can you explain how?

Exactly, what he did might've been a rule infraction of sorts, but the rulebook wasn't clear for one, and it also didn't do anything to impact the game.

China at Men's Worlds last year, on the other hand...

lol, that's not cheating, especially since WC came out and did not disqualify the team.

The same as in China in WCH, right? They were not DSQ too... In curling there should be other fair atmosphere and players should not do this illegal shots and moves. And if yes, they should accept their own fauls.

It is sad that especially for this biggest curling country, they need to do this cheating. It is my biggest disappointing in this olympics that they killing this beautiful sport :(

Its not cheating, again if it was "cheating" they would have been disqualified

No, not the same thing. What China did actually impacted their game against Germany, by kicking their stone "accidentally" they tapped their own stone into the rings, and Germany only ended up scoring 2 that end instead of 3. Then, the Chinese team kept denying it.

Ok maybe not cheating, but it was not 100% correct. And if it does not have any impact why he does it in each of his shot? And China in WCH was cheated and was not DSQ? So it was not cheating too?

    • I know that probably nobody care about it here, but today in Wisła were held national championships. Only one round was held, with second being cancelled by heavy rain.   Kacper Tomasiak was winner with 128.0m, second was Dawid Kubacki with 131.5m and third was Paweł Wąsek with 122.5m, 47 jumpers competed in it.   Among womens winner was Anna Twardosz with 117.0m, second was Pola Bełtowska with 106.0m and third was Nicole Konderla-Juroszek with 88.0m. Only 4, yes four jumpers take parts in it, additionaly Konderla-Juroszek announced break from sport after being bronze medalist.    And still people were mad about Bełtowska results in Olympics. How it can be good when we have, now, just 3 active female jumpers???
    • And that's a wrap! The end of the Olympics always gets me. For a couple of weeks, the whole world is cheering, feeling the same highs and heartbreaks together, and suddenly it’s over. I’m really going to miss that.
    • I think Compagnoni is one of the biggest talents in the history of alpine skiing (in a different universe where she didn't have all those the dramatic injuries, she'd probably be a GOAT candidate), but in terms of career achievements, I believe Brignone is above her at this point.

    • I never thought I'd see the day Italy had a 30-medal and 10-gold edition of the Winter Olympics, so there are probably too many to choose from.   Brignone winning the Super G, because to me that was the story of the Games from a human standpoint.   Lollobrigida winning the 3000 meters, because it was the most jaw-dropping performance for me, as everybody — herself included— was saying she had a very rough preparation for the Olympics.   The 1-2 in the men's skicross, because it was the one race in which I got to taste the excitement of gradually realizing that something unbelievable is about to happen. That's probably why the first moment that comes to mind when I think of that race is not the final, but the quarterfinal in which the Italians eliminated Howden.   If I have to choose just one moment, I'll go with those 3 hours on Sunday February 15th in which I saw Federico Pellegrino realize his dream of a relay medal, then Federica Brignone win the giant slalom, and finally Lisa Vittozzi win the first ever Italian gold in biathlon, with a silver medal in snowboard in the middle.
