Bobsleigh at the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026

What a emotional moment for Elana after winning the gold for  :USA

Nolte will be so disappointed that she let the Gold slip but a good silver for :GER who are having a wonderful sliding events but otherwise disappointing games.

EMH ties Bonnie Blair for most decorated :USA female winter athlete.

She may have set a record for most silver/bronze (5) before winning a gold.

Gold for Elena and :USA!!

Gold for the first time at her 5th Olympics, her 6th medal overall, and cements her legacy as one of the greatest bobsledders to ever do it

Also a rare case of me rooting for a :USA athlete and them actually winning xD

Last time I remember it happening at the Winter games was Bode Miller winning the combined in 2010.

Going back to earlier, I think men's bobsleigh needs to be limited to two entrants per nation. It's a great event to watch but it's very expensive and one nation winning all the medals is a real disincentive to the rest of the world to spend on it. It feels like German investment in the sport is rewarded not only by their own success but also by suppressing any rivals. I'll be cheering for anybody to break their monopoly.

Each Olympics we see a quota cut, so perhaps this is the next direction.
