:BRA cyclist Vinicius Rangel Costa gets a whereabouts ban.  Although sounds like one of those unannounced retirements more than anything

Not exactly "too much" and definitely not "at last"... I know it's been successful at least three times before (cause two were Canadian's)

OK, not doping exactly.....

A British canoeist has been banned for two years for posting "explicit" footage of himself on social media.

A disciplinary panel found that Kurts Adams Rozentals brought the sport into "serious disrepute" when he uploaded a video of him performing what it called a "sexual act" on an aeroplane to his public Instagram account in March, and that this amounted to gross misconduct.

But certainly a dope. Well, he apparently has earned a lot of money from his adult career, so perhaps that's the gamble he chose.

Interesting that he originally told a bit of a fib about what he was being investigated for - he claimed it was his adult site content, but it turned out it was leaking some of that content on a more mainstream social media site, on an account linking to Gb Canoeing.

It's a long way from cheeky rugby calendars with carefully placed balls...

Linking it to GB canoeing was kind of dumb if true. Other than that, starting an adult content career on the side (especially on a platform made for that) should very obviously not lead to any kind of trouble for his sports career whatsoever. Same kind of nonsense as American teachers being fired because of having an Onlyfans page.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
