Few upsets today of note...

:CZE Kylie/Maixnerova beat :USA Cannon/Kraft in straight sets after entering the tournament as a reserve :yikes::yikes: and :SUI Krattiger/Dillier beat :NED Boermans/De Groot also in straight sets (although, I knew they had the potential, very underrated team)

Fairly convincing second set for :NOR Mol/Sørum, 21-14, and we're going the distance!

It was close for the first 20 points or so (only a BP in it in favour of Mol/Sørum), but a Mol ace before the technical timeout really killed any sort of momentum Schacter/Pickett had built up.

:BRA Duda and Ana Patricia are out of the World Championship due to injury. It's a shame, but it was already clear that the players weren't 100%, perhaps it would have been better to take a year off.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
