I see :NED Van ‘t Wout is back in form at these Europeans :d

There was hardly any competition. Sighel only competed in the 1000 meters and fell there, so Van 't Wout was able to win three titles unchallenged. In the relay, Italy was too strong. The third and fourth Dutch men (Emons and De Laat) are both weak links. Unfortunately, Daan Kos is still injured. He will likely miss the Olympic Games.

On the women's side, the Dutch women performed well in the 500 meters. Selma Poutsma (2022 relay champion) set the fastest times, but was ultimately defeated in the final turn by Xandra Velzeboer (41.87) and Michelle Velzeboer (42.00). The 500 meters will be the most important distance for the Dutch women. They haven't been convincing in the longer distances.

Which means :CRO and :HKG earn quotas now.

This article confirms that Croatia earned a second women's quota in the 1500m.

Daan Kos :NED (our best rider after Jens van 't Wout) is still injured and can't participate at the Olympic Games. Very sad for him (and our relay).

Looks like :AUS Australia declined their women's quota so that explains where the extra Poland quota came from

Finally we have the final quotas!

Changes from the initial allocation:

  • :AUS Australia declined their female quota
  • :GBR Great Britain declined 1 male and 1 female quota
  • :CRO Croatia gained a spot in the women's 1500m
  • :HKG Hong Kong gained a quota in the women's 1500m
  • :POL Poland gained a quota in the women's 1500m

Based on the SOQC rankings, It looks like :FRA France will get an extra spot in the women's 500m and :POL Poland will get an extra spot in the women's 1000m.

    • Just noticed that  Sweden rejected a late quota in men's ski cross. There is no one left to reallocate the quota to so men's ski cross will only have 31 athletes entered.   Who would've thought before the games began that women's ski cross would use all 32 quotas and men's ski cross wouldn't.
