Good start to the season for @brunamoura, 375 FIS points in a mildly strong sprint field in Italy yesterday. Started well in the quarters, but fell because of someone in front of her hitting something that bounced back on the course. That's alright though, qualifying is what matters in the sprint and that went well for a first snow race in almost 2 years :cheer:

10k today, starting a little after 10am. Getting under 300 points or so would be a nice way to start the road.

Not 300 points....233 points :hyper:

Excellent start of the season! Live timing wasn't ideal, some transponders issues here and there, so while she should have crossed the line first (started 2nd), I didn't see her in the finish list even after 8-9 women finished...luckily then she called and when I asked if she finished, she said she did, so no problems and it was indeed just some transponder issue :p

Tomorrow it's the 10k classic, first time she does 10k races back-to-back, let's see how that goes  Less pressure though, since that one won't count for the Brazilian Olympic ranking, only classic sprint and freestyle distance races count for that.

How are the points calculated btw?  Coefficient of the winners time?  Or an fixed standard like in Decathlon etc?

They're based on four things:

1. A factor (800 for interval starts, 1200 for sprint qualifying, 1400 for mass starts/skiathlons)

2. The winner's time

3. The time of athlete X (the one you want to calculate the points for)

4. The current FIS points of the athletes in the top-5 of the race

I know there are two formulas FIS uses, which obviously result in the same points total, but I don't have them in mind :p
