With the return of Lindsey Vonn, maybe one day will can see Therese Johaug too :p

That has already been announced though :p

She is aiming for Trondheim 2025, then probably goes back into retirement (then again, who knows, with the Olympics only one year away then).

There is actually a Cross Country season opener this weekend from Muonio, :FINUnfortunately the only coverage outside Finland is on Pay TV Ski Classics system.  There were sprints today, then other events Saturday and Sunday.

SC Play

Even inside Finland, I think? I checked Yle's schedule this morning, but couldn't find anything anywhere, at least for today's sprints.

:yikes::yikes: Have completely missed this.

Was joking, but with the state of Norway's women's division last season, I'm envisioning them begging in front of Johaug's door for her to return :d

Big weekend of pre-Season/team selection races coming up, just like last week for biathlon.

:NOR first - from Beitostolen.

Friday - Classic Sprint

Saturday - 10Km Classic Time Trial - featuring the return of la Johaug.

Sunday - 10km Freestyle Time Trial

Think this will be your best link outside Norway for Cross Country

Langrenn - NRK TV

Also featuring ski jumping and Nordic Combined for both women & men

Edited by Grassmarket

And the :SWE races from Bruksvallarna

Identical programme, but in Sweden I think the Women get top billing.

Friday - Classic Sprint

Saturday - 10Km Classic Time Trial

Sunday - 10km Freestyle Time Trial

Here's the link, but it looks like it needs more than just your basic VPN.

Längdskidor: Bruksvallarna | SVT Play

How to connect from abroad.

Använd SVT Play utomlands | SVT Kontakt

    • Sablikova started on the road cycling and just almost qualified for Rio 2016. Maybe Lollobrigida would like to join the Italian track team? She has the good character and 2 medals at the Olympics, one in winter and one in summer, would be a legendary achievement, not only in Italy.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martina_Sáblíková
    • One Wiebes is worth more than the all Italian team with Balsamo/Fidanza, etc., that much clear. Even if the Netherlands loses its dominance in the men's sprint, Wiebes will win 2-3 gold medals in other events. Just relax, man.
    • I'm most worried about our women's team in the pursuit – we have a reserve squad, but not advancing to the top 8 is a shame. We recently competed with out 1 team and had not good in 1 round. It doesn't look good. And the Netherlands are already taking Wiebes to the track team and will soon dominate the Madison/Omnium as well. Balsamo and Paternoster haven't made any progress for years and the our women's team at the Olympics has little chance to win a medal. Italy might even win World Championship/European Championship gold in the years after the Olympics, etc., but when the real fight comes, the UK or the USA will always beat us
    • Track cycling is one of the few sports where there is no host nation quota, so  will need to work hard to achieve our quotas.  It's not our best sport, but was happy to see Top 10 results in the Elimination Race for Grant Koontz and Emma Jimenez Palos (who is just 18!).
    • Yes, I saw the same thing you did @clemsonbeav (on both accounts) but I agree it looks pretty stock.
    • Also, I just logged back into my account, where it sent me to update my profile, and when I saved that, I got a screen that included a check mark next to 'Registered for the Draw'.  Not sure I totally trust it, but it does at least say so.  (There's nothing specifically referencing Drop 2 or anything...might just be a stock screen.). I'm curious what it would look like if you looked at it @esube.  https://tickets.la28.org/
    • I didn't buy any tickets, but didn't get the e-mail.   We bought tickets on my wife's account (earlier timeslot), but not 12, and she got the e-mail.

    • I am very curious.  We got extremely lucky in the first ticket drop, both my and my wife's emails were selected for relatively early time slots-- early enough that we bought our full allotment of tickets for good stuff.  Not swimming or gymnastics of course, but we were really pleased,  d   But today I received an email on one of those accounts saying that we were entered into the second drop because we hadn't used up our 12 ticket allotment.  I went back and counted-- twice-- and yes, we certainly did purchase 12 tickets on that account.      I am not sure I want any more!  Did this happen to anybody else?
