Unfortunately Vietnam will not be attempting to qualify for the Olympics. They were unable to secure a sled(s) for the season

:USA Lake Placid is officially the back-up venue if the Eugenio Monti track isn't finished in time.

No, Lake Placid won the bid to be the back-up host over St Moritz and Igls. I don’t believe any other track expressed interest.

I guess it makes it makes as much sense as trying to frankenstein an old track in less than two years

Well, this is going to complicate things for us :GBR as some results might need to be scrubbed.

 

"Great Britain bobsleigh athlete Arran Gulliver has been provisionally suspended for failing a doping test."

Only the world championship results. World Cup should be safe because the positive happened at the start of this month.

      Kind of weird to see federations announcing their speed skating teams; the ISU has not confirmed team sizes yet. I think today is the deadline for submissions and it is possible for the ISU to reduce some of the numbers.

      Can see it both ways.  Normally Curling Teams play as a Four and it is usually best to keep the same Four together.  BUT  won Gold with a team put together by the Federation, not as an organic four so.....     Also, the family thing, but curling is a village/small town sport, so everyone is always more or less related to each other, or neighbours, or friends from school etc etc.
