That is the tricky thing, I believe that the scores take three trimesters into account so some athletes will have scores that are too old by the time the olympics come.

I think (but really not sure) the current points take into account the whole season 24/25. For the Olympics only two trimesters will count from this season plus first trimester next year.
I don’t know the trimester definition /dates but we can assume that all results before Christmas will not count.

Edited by prso1000

The first trimester ended on the 22.12.24, which for sure means those results will not count. 2nd trimester ended on 26.01.2025. all results after that will count for sure. Not sure about the 2nd trimester as qualification period lasts until 18.01.2026. I would assume only last trimester of this season plus all events next year until 18.01 will count, but that’s my view. If correct the current list is not really saying much.

Think these links should work for the weekend's races.

:FRA Coralie Langel has switched to :SUI who happen to have a free World Cup spot after Elisa Gasparin retired.

Hasn't competed internationally in years (since before Beijing) and it looks like she was never really that big of a promise...very curious to see if she'll manage to get herself into the World Cup team, instead of the Meinen's and Cadurisch's of the IBU Cup.

.

Hanna and Elvira Öberg 4th in Swedish nationals single mixed as a full Female team in a race where the men had the last extra leg, despite a penalty loop:d

:RUS Evgeny Ustyugov has had all his results from January 2010 to the end of the 2013/14 season disqualified due to doping.

A few Olympic medals are expected to change hand as a result:

Vancouver 2010 Mass Start:

Gold: :FRA Martin Fourcade
Silver: :SVK Pavol Hurajt
Bronze: :AUT Christoph Sumann

Vancouver 2010 men's relay:

Bronze: :SWE

This also confirms the previous disquaification of the Russian relay team from the Sochi Olympics.

Amazing that Martin Fourcade can't stop winning Olympic gold medals even in retirement xD

Crazy how long this case has been going on, but glad it has been resolved.

    • What are the odds WTA/ITF has Kostyuk vs Potapova AO R1 just to see if the hand shake happens?
    • Malinin  opted for the 4-Axel in his Short Program, but faltered, landing him in 3rd thus far (and only 0.05 away from 4th!).  Surely he has the tools to rise back up in the Free Program.  (Also, perhaps this will serve to show him that he is in fact beatable.)

I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
