Something sad about Argentina! :ARG

With the defeats of Quiroga and López, it will be the first time since Antwerp-1920 that the country will not take anyone in boxing!

Remembering that boxing is the sport that has given them the most medals, with seven golds and 24 in total.

Ok, Argentine success dates back to the 30s/40s, and the last medal in the sport came from Atlanta-96. But it's sad nonetheless! They fell from five classified in Tokyo, some young, to none now! At YOG 2018, which they hosted, they won three medals! Sad for our neighbors!

I came here to say the same, thanks for the post.

With Nishant Dev :IND qualifying in 71kg , we have our first men’s quota in boxing  & a much deserving one.

Along with the 3 girls who qualified earlier this is our 4th boxing quota. :thumbup:Hopefully we can add to that with both Amit Panghal & Sachin Siwach qualifying for their respective quota bouts.

1908 actually.

We'll be seeing more of this in many sports in the following years. Every amateur sport in :ARG is finished after Paris (no more funding).

From watching a few of the bouts, the referees are giving far too many point deductions, and with the current scoring system it has a disproportionate effect on the outcome of the fight, they need to sort it out before Olympics

Very impressive performance by :CAN Wright, and she’s through to the quota bout in women’s 50kg :yes

If we’re being nitpicky, I thought all three rounds went in favor of Wright, but all that matters is that she got the win.
