So, France has submitted a 19men roster which will of course be cut to 12.

  • Andrew Albicy, Nando De Colo, Killian Hayes, Nadir Hifi, Elie Okobo, Matthew Strazel
  • Evan Fournier, Isaia Cordinier, Jaylen Hoard, Theo Maledon, Frank Ntilikina
  • Nicolas Batum, Bilal Coulibaly, Ousmane Dieng
  • Victor Wembanyama, Guerschon Yabusele
  • Rudy Gobert, Mathias Lessort, Vincent Poirier

Wembenyama is exepctedly in and with Gobert, Lessort, Poirier and Yabusele France's depth and length at 3,4 and 5 is pretty impressive. But guard situation is nowhere near. There is no real true solid point guard on the roster and France decided not to call up Hertuel again which is probably going to be again a massive mistake.

do you think we could win a medal?

Sure. After USA which I consider is guaranteed a gold, there are lots of teams with a chance to compete for other two medals, and France as a host and with that roster should be among top 2,3 favorites for other 2 medals. If I would have to distribute medals now I would give silver and bronze to Serbia and France. Depending on semifinals matchups of course it would change.

It took a while for the picture to load so I was surprised to see the coach (I assume) as the main photo. Other nations tend to use the players in the photo

In Serbia and in Europe in general coaches are still more prominent than players. Old school.

Well, it didn't take us long for first injury scare. Jović from Miami is injured, in a walking boot. Rumour is that he teared ankle ligament. If it's true he probably misses Olympics.
