French Pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati saw his Olympic dream go up in smoke after his own penis knocked off the bar.

The 21-year-old, competing in front of his home crowd, looked all set to clear 5.70m and take a major step towards the final of his event, before disaster struck.

As the Frenchman prepared to relinquish his pole disaster struck when his own manhood grazed the bar with enough force to send it crashing to the floor, thus ending his hopes of a medal.

Time for the 9th event of the decathlon. Rooth will want to go over 60 meters to remain on course for gold, Neugebauer will need to at least get close to that to stay in the fight.

Kind of hard to explain since I do like Neugebauer, but I’ll be rooting for Rooth throughout the remainder of the decathlon. If Warner was still in contention, then yeah I’d want him to medal, now…

Always worth rooting for athletes who had a 'no mark' or 'no height' yet continue the event. Let's go Skotheim, hopefully he at least finishes nicely!

Yeah, I did notice there was something a bit weird about that.
