Slalom Canoeing COPAC American Championships 2024

It is only for the specific athlete. Trust me, our federation was already explaining this new rule at the European Games. One athlete can win only 1 quota and he can not select which event he want, this time it is automatically the first event he earned the quota (here the Canoe events are contested first - so it will be Canoe)

But if another athlete from Canada wins the K1, could Canada choose K1 and then the C1 quota would go to Argentina?

I think what @hckošiceis saying is that this is by athlete. If the same Canadian athletes won quotas in K1 their quota can count in C1, however a different Canadian athlete can qualify a spot in K1.

yeah, but on the continental championships, each NOC can only win 1 quota per gender.

Yeah that rule of 1 per gender max at continental qualifiers can be tricky to understand correctly, so let´s wait for the confirmation, but I still think the C1 will have priority as it was the first competed event won by Canada here...thus they mey really be inelegible in the Kayak at the end

but in other hands at the European Games all countries were eligible to win quotas in every event (assuming it was not the same athlete) and it was also a Continental qualifier...so who knows...

Yeah, if the semis are any indication, Canada will likely finish first in women's K1.

Canada may keep the C1 quota regardless and just have her compete in both events.

    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep

    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
