lucky she's only got a broken nose and a concussion, it could have been a lot worse

 

unfortunately, this injury will give her a lot of troubles in the remainder of the season and most likely it will cost  more than 1 Olympic medal between road and track (even if she'll be able to participate to the Games, she won't be in the best shape of her life for sure)

The Giro is definitely lost but maybe it's better because she won't get injured there and will focus only on the track. In the road race, she could only help Longo Borghini, and the closer to the Olympics, the more dangerous the crashes become. When I look at Milan's finishes I pray that there will be no fall.

I still think that the Paris road race will be dominated by a sprinter in the end, the Montmartre climb is too far away from home to build a big gap...

 

the problem is only the small number of riders in each team, but in the women's race I think the top sprint specialists are so good overall that they will be able to fight for the gold medal

 

among the men, it should be a different beast, as it's impossible to take a pure sprinter home with only 3/4 riders per team

With Paris you have to factor in no radios as well.

yes, sure

 

but I think it will affect more the men rather than the women, because of their style of racing (the men are way more "tactical", the women are definitely more instinctive and rarely tactics are a factor in the final kms of the NT-based races)

You would think no one can dominate like Pogacar, but Vollering could actually be doing it easier.  Will there be a Stage race she won't win? I'm surprised she lost so many Classics this spring, given her past month in Spain.

The Lifeplus-Wahoo cycling team were able to continue in the Tour of Britain on Friday after the generosity of their rivals following the theft of 14 bikes overnight. 
 

The UK-based women's team woke on Friday morning to discover all 14 of their Ribble Endurance SLR bikes, worth "about £55,000" in total according to team manager Tom Varney, had been stolen from their mechanic's van.

Final stage in the Tour of Britain today. Everyone on the picture, except for the Australian jersey, is Team SD Worx. Kopecky (green) came out of the last turn with a nice lead, Wiebes (bib 2, red) would then normally finish off the sprint as she is by far the world's fastest sprinter. However, they wanted to give a chance to always loyal helper Christine Majerus (Luxembourg jersey) to finish it off with a relatively easy and rare opportunity. Majerus celebrated, but Ruby Roseman-Gannon passed her on the line and so everyone of SD Worx ended up angry

Dutch media today reports that former Olympic and Worldchampion Anna vd Breggen will return in the peloton next season. She ended her career in 2021. She will ride for SD Worx.
