Very little of the discus was shown, there was apparently wind earlier, but i think by the time discus started it wasn't there anymore,i would be very surprised if the throw was aided by wind since no other women could capitalize on it

Italian Record and World Junior Record for Mattia Furlani: 8.31m ad 1st jump.

it was not over...then, he improved to 8.34, which is a new U-20 indoor world record (only 1 cm shy of the outdoor u-20 world record, held by a Russian guy) and equalled the 2024 world leading mark set by :JAM Chris Wayne Pinnock

more interesting results from day #1 of the Italian Indoor Nationals:

  • Elisa Molinarolo won the women's Pole Vault with 4m66cm (new NR)
  • Lorenzo Simonelli won the men's 60m Hurdles in 7.48 (new NR)
  • Larissa Iapichino won the women's Long Jump with 6m80cm (SB)

and Tomorrow Andy Diaz (men's TJ), Zeynab Dosso (women's 60m) and Leonardo Fabbri + Zane Weir (men's Shot Put) will be on stage for more exciting efforts

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
