More importantly, was Poland kicked out?

Unfortunately, only the suspension was extended, although the Polish Curling Association stands that in 5 years curling will stop existing because all the ice rinks will have to be closed due to global warming and energy crisis.

WCF wants to have really hard evidence, which means either the court decision about the liquidation of PCA or the opinion of the Polish NOC, which doesn't really seem to care :/

An artificial intelligence-equipped robot named 'Curly' beat one of the world's best curling teams by quickly adapting to changes in the ice, its developers claim.

Is this permanent or only because of COVID-19?

I believe this had to do with qualification complications due to Covid-19.

Italian Federation won an appeal against Curling Federation, so it should be a 13 teams tournament.

For have a better format, WCF decide to improve the WC to 14 teams
