Does anyone know where you can find an overview of the extensive Olympic rankings? And where you can see how a team's points total is structured. You could follow this at other Olympic Games via various sites, but this year I can't find anything about it.

Do you mean something like this? https://fivb.12ndr.at/olympic-ranking/men

Definitely a team to watch out for this season.

Very surprising result on the women’s side, with :CAN Bansley/Bukovec coming out of qualifying to win the silver medal :yikes::yikes::yikes::yes beating some solid teams along the way (including a straight sets win over #1 seed :BRA Taina/Victoria in the quarterfinals)

They’re most likely not going to be qualifying for Paris through the Olympic Rankings, but pretty much a shoe in for the NORCECA Olympic quota (hope these words don’t come back to bite me in the future :bones:) considering the lack of beach volleyball depth in North America. Actually the only thing that’s stopping them from going to Paris is another Canadian pairing Pavan/McBain, but right now Bansley/Bukovec are a level above them.

Guadalajara Challenge | Guadalajara, Mexico :MEX

Women’s Tournament

Gold- :SUI Esmee Bobner/Zoe Verge-Depre

Silver- :BRA Agatha Bednarczuk/Rebecca Silva

Bronze- :CAN Heather Bansley/Sophie Bukovec :cheer:

With Bobner/Verge-Depre’s gold medal here, the race for Switzerland’s two Olympic spots is heating up.

Did some calculations, Huberli/Brunner now lead with 7560 points (and have a finish to record), Bobner/Verge-Depre are now on 7460 points, and Mader/Verge-Depre stay on 7140 points as they had a bad week losing in the qualies.

Likely will be a battle between them and the Tokyo 2020 bronze medalists Mader/Verge-Depre (Esmee’s sister) as the Olympic Ranking is very tight between the three and Huberli/Brunner still have one finish to record (while the other two are trying to replace their poor finishes). But I wouldn’t pencil in Huberli/Brunner’s qualification just yet.

Men’s Tournament

Gold- :USA Trevor Crabb/Theodore Brunner

Silver- :GER Lukas Pfretzschner/Sven Winter :yikes::yikes::yikes:

Bronze- :BRA Evandro Goncalves/Arthur Lanci

:CUB Diaz/Alayo continue on their hot streak, but fall just off the podium in 4th. Very surprising podium for Pfretzschner/Winter, if they can sustain this type of form in the upcoming months it’ll see them as one of the pairings in contention for an Olympic spot through the European Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament.

I assume that they do not have any chances to qualify for Paris as thex have not enough tournaments, correct?
Are they eligible for the Continental Cup Final?

    • Non-Olympic Athlete, Moment of the Year and Olympic Spirit Award are the ones lacking the most. Paralympic Athlete and Breakthrough also don't have a lot of votes.
    • Do you have or have you ever had an modern ice track?
    • Still no progress in the Italian team: 2x 4th place in men's singles and women's doubles+ a fall in the team relay. Men's doubles and women's singles without any progress for years. What's worse, our women's doubles also significantly lowered their level: without a single podium in the World Cup in this season. As of today, I'm betting on 0 medals in Cortina for us, excluding some miracles on the home track.
    • There is some progress at Barp and Carollo but almost everything is still based on Pellegrino. In the men's we lost a great talent - de Fabiani and Davide Graz - they are at an age where we have a generation gap in these age groups: 1994-2000. In the women's I`m happy with Monsorno's progress in sprints but the last podium WC in the women's category was in... 2011. We wasted 15 years in the women's category and now we are only waking up with 1 year to go until the games in Cortina, when we should have a ready team like Germany (I will skip Scandinavia because of its completely different potential).
    • Italy doesn't exist in women's technical competitions without from Brignone and Goggia - both over 30 age. Unfortunately Bassino has been out of good shipe since from last season in the giant slalom and she is unrecognizable in some competitions. In the case of Goggia I also don't really believe in regular podiums in the giant slalom - she can't have falls and win in the downhill and super-G. The giant slalom is just a bonus.   The Italian women's slalom has basically been non-existent for many years. One Peterlini qualifies for the 30 and doesn't finish half of the competitions. I can't understand how it was possible to lose Colturi in a situation where other Italians have fallen so badly. Unfortunately it's not the Italian federation that should be setting the conditions here but it's Colturi and her mother - a talent on par with Shiffrin at her age.
    • In relay yes, but we have 8 more from our legend Natalya Yakushenko back in 2008 and earlier
