The west being hypocritical is not a new thing, nor is it likely to change, and yes israel will be protected, nevermind that one could ask why it is a point of conversation anyway,THERE NOT EUROPEAN ,WHY ARE THEY IN SOMETHING CALLED EUROVISION ?

Israel competes as a European nation in basically all sports / competitions because too many countries in Asia object to their existence.

Honestly it just makes it more of a joke, then call it ebuvision,is the Austarlian period of competing in it over yet ?

They have not done anywhere near as well as they did when they first joined, hopefully this means they will stop soon.

I'd rather have them out and bring back :BUL :ROU :HUN :SVK :MNE :BIH :MKD :TUR

For starters I want every country back that has participated (and still exists), the more the better :d

That does sort of describe one of the main problems with the televoting though :p

Whether it's political voting, diaspora voting or ethnic voting, it's a certain set of votes which one can basically already fill in beforehand no matter how horrible or amazing the song is. Although I didn't check recent voting results, so I do sort of assume it wasn't actually a 12-point exchange between Cyprus and Greece all the time in reality? :d

The jury vote not always, the tele vote usually except some years we are in different semis and only one made the final, or 2015 when neither gave each other 12 points, though that was in the old system, Greece did get first place from the Cyprus public (the singer was also from Cyprus), but Cyprus I believe got 3rd from the Greek public (the song was extremely boring so if there was one year for Greece to not vote for Cyprus, it was then).

TOISC and TAISC

More countries

Less expensive

Talking about food in the breaks:thumbup:

Less drama:thumbup:

Malta getting to the finals

Absolutely glad to not have Malta in the final this year, it was textbook case of "yeah, you can copy my homework, just change a few things" - Spain 2022 Slo Mo

What also gave me the vibes that it was textbook plagiarism, was that it took 8 people to write that mess.

Though I can only imagine that Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia coming back all that once would most likely kill qualification chances for smaller countries like Luxembourg, San-Marino, Malta, Belgium, Denmark, likely even all of the Baltic countries, because of the Balkan block voting, which would be even more of a thing now without the juries in the semis.

Although ironically it was those same juries that colluded some years ago :p

Just pull an Armenia, Poland or Turkey and spread across every country for those sweet diaspora votes :d

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
    • Totallympics had  users at one point, but I haven't seen any hanging around in a while.
    • In terms of total medals, yes. In terms of golds, I’d be fine with anywhere from 6-8.   @intoronto you don’t think we’ll do better or at least the same? Bit surprising.
    • Tadeucci was very good and took bronze
