guys do you have a clear link for the rules for quota exchange ..................... I have said in my national forum that the maximum number of quotas that a country can exchange is one ................ There are so many people arguing that a country can exchange as many quotas as they please ....................... am I right ? ............... do give me a link ?

Details on the exchange of quota places can be found in the confirmation process. Read them carefully.

You are right.

You can only exchange a maximum of one.

Can any shooter represent the quota .....................for example if shooter A wins a quota............ can the NOC select any shooter to represent the country for that quota or is that also counted as an exchange of a quota .................. what are the rules governing that

Shooter A wins a quota in Event X. Now, this means a) Shooter A cannot win another quota in any other event and b) Shooter A's NOC has a quota in Event X. Now, whether NOC wants to send A or some other guy B (who has MQS in Event X) is purely upto NOC. The shooter who is selected by NOC can participate in other events as well provided he has MQS in that event as well. This can be done as long as the number of shooters in that event does not cross 2 per NOC limit. If NOC wins 2 quota (A and B) in Event X and has another shooter C who has quota in Event Y and MQS in Event X, then NOC must decide which 2 shooters would take part in Event X. This is what happened with China. They decided to use shooter C and hence returning their quota. All these selections are not part of exchange of quotas. Exchange of quotas is when NOC returns its quota in Event X and instead gets a quota in Event Z. Like we exchanged Rajput's quota in 50x3 and got quota in Trap. This exchange can only be done once by NOC.

Hope this clarifies the situation.

Bahrain only got one quota. Bolivia, Malta and Oman got two quotas because they applied for two to the tripartite committee.

    • Vivat Slovakia    But in all seriousness, it's been repeatedly stated how important it is to qualify in a team event for the next Summer Olympics. However, I have no idea if we even have a realistic chance.   We only have one fewer individual athlete competing this year than we did in Paris, so individual quota spots aren't the main issue. Where can we find a competitive team, like we do in hockey? Maybe the women's handball team could start something big, but that's still far in the future, very likely unachievable in just two years.   And to be clear, as horrific as our medal tally from Paris looked, those were some of the unluckiest Olympics for Slovakia I have ever seen. Finishing in the top six seven times (!) is absolutely insane.

    • I really hope Nordic Combined doesn't get scrapped. Actually, I believe the Winter Olympics should keep growing with new sports and disciplines (3x3 Hockey, Ice Cross, Speed Skiing, Ice Climbing), otherwise they won't feel like a true celebration of sports like their summer counterpart.
    • In fact, well, no. Hockey is extremely physically demanding, I even think it is the most physically demanding winter sport of all. I mean keeping more than a minute on ice is just cardiac. The shifts are there for a reason.   25 players rosters are absolutely justified. You must have 4 lines to keep the stamina the whole game.   Hard to persuade people who never watched hockey though, I can understand your point, but sadly, the point is wrong
    • Stats are ok, but the time she losts on the range every time... My point was that she is more likely to make us losing the olympic relay than to make us winning it.
    • I'll jump on the off-topic with an unpopular opinion - ice hockey isn't so stamina demanding to justify 25 people rosters. And it doesn't have big playing fields like football or rugby for example, where you'd require so many reserves. 15 field players + 3 goalies should be good. Or 18+3 at max. But 25 is too much imo and the constant substitutes are too much as well.
    • But her shooting surely never was horrendous, or even bad for her standards.
