If the bell towers won't survive the whole place will burn down. And I'm afraid they won't survive. 800 years of history gone... 

 

Firefighters can only do as much.. the cathedral is huge and if they decided to save as many artifacts as possible, it basically means they've given up on the building

This is actually not true, the stone buildings might not burn itself, but everything else inside can burn and because of a closed surface it burns quickly, once again, the problem is not the flame itself, the problem is the oxidation and all combusting materials, Toxic gases. + remember, A fire in such buildings is much more difficult to be solved so easily than in a smaller house or in open small surfaces air areas.

 

one of the major issues except the difficult direct entrance to the building, every person can be there obviously only for a couple of minutes and they have to be replaced, is  obviously also the problem to getting there water
