I had the most memorable and important day of my life last friday, where me and my now wife could celebrate our wedding. We had a small ceremony and then we had an enjoying weekend together.

I lost my mother last week Tuesday. It is literally the most devastating thing to happen to me and tbh I am still in shock/sad.

So a few observations on European camping habits in California. The French Go to sleep the minute the sun sets (unless they are youth (then the party begins)). The Dutch are quite, but stay up late and keep to themselves. The Germans at stereotypical loud at times, but also respectful at night. The Irish wear that ugly green, and are hardly noticeable around camp (besides that eye sore of a flag they fly). The Belgians apparently love to party and camp half naked (and I think a few Dutchmen may be sneaking in there too), so far not ultra impressed with them. Though we traded money so they’re alright I guess. I haven’t noticed too many other nationalities at camp, but I’ve seen some Japanese and Eastern European tourists around town.

Just noticed I passed 1,000 reputation sometime this weekend. Thank You everyone for making me feeling welcomed (most of the time) and for allowing to be a (mostly) positive member of the Totallympics and Olympic family. Here’s to the next 1,000 :beer:

I think TISC-News could use an update. The results from the last 3 TISC’s are missing, and there’s not nearly enough opinion pieces aimed at bestmen. TISC-News is really in a sad state currently.

      Yeah, most likely her mother is an obsessive money hungry monster, especially when you see her parading like a "manager" to a 16 year old.. I'm sure very few are faulting Elvira in this situation.

      If she had retired, I think I would have heard it 'around', so I am just assuming she is still competing, although in between she is also working as FIS delegate in places like Bulgaria during the summer

      One of the legends of Dutch football from the 70's, Johan Neeskens, has passed away aged 73. His most famous moment by far was in the World Cup final against West Germany, when in the 2nd minute he made 1-0 from a penalty in his characteristic way: indescribably hard through the middle.

      no names mentioned, even the number of athletes is not finalized yet, the report says 4 in CC without mentioning the gender.   I assume if she is still competing (not retired) she will be going , hard to find anything about winter sports athletes in the summer  (or even in the winter )

      Soon it will be goodbye to the   British Indian Ocean Territory as they will become part of Mauritius.   No permanent residents, but the descendants of expelled indigenous residents from the 70s have a “Chagos Islands” football team. Ironically, just a few months ago, they played their first match under the “BIOT” name, and their shirts had the flag which looks pretty amazing.

      2016 U20 world champion (800m) Kipyegon Bett , bronze at te 2017 senior world championships, has died yesterday after a month of illness. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kipyegon_Bett   Massive talent in 2015-2017 or so, got caught for EPO and never really competed anymore outside of Kenya after that.
