It's official.. Momota won't go to Rio

 

Momota will get an indefinite suspension and Tago is expelled from his club plus removed from Nippon Badminton Association player list. Some sources also said that Momota will be given the chance at Tokyo 2020 though

It's illegal behaviour and I can very much imagine that they don't want people with criminal behaviour representing their country  

Probably the "rules" of the associations say something about athletes having to behave themselves in order to represent Japan, which makes sense if you ask me. 

 

Apart from all that, if Momota was smart and did not involve himself with criminal activities, like most athletes, he would have no problem at all. The blame is all on him, not on the people who punish him.

You can also say then "how is murdering someone related to Olympics?"

 

We had many athletes thrown out of their national teams for bad behaviour. For example, maybe some of you remember the Greek triple jumper who got thrown out of London 2012 team just before the Games started because of a racist post on her Facebook.
