Since there's barely any actual news, some gossipy nonsense :p Kirsten Flipkens has revealed she had 'a thing' with Rafael Nadal in their teen years, when she was 14. "But he didn't speak any English at the time, so it stayed with holding hands and a few kisses" :p

Spoiler

Sure, it's not like - despite being an international super star - he speaks much English now :p

There will be first ever Mima Jaušovec Cup, a "Laver Cup type" of contest between top 20 of Slovenian players.

West vs. East (6.-8.6.2020 / RCU Lukovica, near Domžale, 20 km out of Ljubljana, where I mostly play :))

- 3 days, every day 7 matches (2 men singles, 2 women singles, 1 men doubles, 1 women doubles, 1 mixed doubles)

- on first day every win is worth one point, second day two points, and final day 3 points

- among others Aljaž Bedene, Blaž Rola, Polona Hercog, Tamara Zidanšek, Kaja Juvan,...

- best of 3 sets to 4 games (so, kind of fast 4 tennis)

- we will broadcast live all matches on Sportklub

Robin Haase's former coach, who got arrested on an airport while they travelled back from a tournament, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of a prominent businessman. This was the last appeal possibility, so bye.

  • 2 weeks later...

Slovan Bratislava won today in the first round of :SVK league against Matuškovo...what is interesting n this, you would ask...

well the roster of Slovan Bratislava, today their line up was Dominik Hrbatý (who played his first match after 7 years after his retirement), Viktoria Kužmová and Belinda Benčič who decided to help Slovan Bratislava and play for free in our Extraliga !!! fun fact her grandfather played for Slovan Bratislava ice hockey a couple of decades ago :d

Belinda won against Ana Karolína Schmiedlová in a very dramatic match in 3 sets 3-6, 6-3 and 7-6

she was so elegant, all smile and super happy in the court

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
