The initial list of medal events came out today. Both 4 x 400 meters relays for men and women have been dropped in favour of a mixed 4 x 400 relay.

I was convinced this was just a mistake and it had been left off the list in error.

Before the list came out, I had a feeling they’d include the mixed 4 x 400 but I didn’t think they’d drop the men and women’s 4 x 400.

They've added women's 1500 freestyle and men's 800 freestyle. I guess they can get away with that because it'll be the same athletes as events already on the program but that's gonna be tough to squeeze into the schedule unless they're converting the long distance events to timed finals.

If the US does indeed join the Commonwealth as an associate member this could change the CWGs quite a bit xD

We would just need Japan and China to also join xD

 

(TBH I would prefer swimming more to a Four Continents model and just hold that as counter programming for Europeans)

 has officially submitted an expression of Interest to host the 2030 Commonwealth games in Ahmedabad. 
The CWG federation will now evaluate the bid & decide on hosting rights
