Napoli's mayor announced that he want change the Napoli's Stadium name from "Stadio San Paolo" into "Stadio Diego Armando Maradona"

I always wish they'd do these kind of things not as a reaction to someone's death, but when someone is still alive and can feel the honour. Same with the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam..

Wow. I mean, I think most people agree this was not exactly a highlight of the history of the FIFA World Cup, but focusing on that right now - even more so with a cover like this - is rather...low.

Hand of God served the British colonialist ghosts really well. Days when UK told half of the world what to do are long over and Maradona stuck a fork in them for sure. Shows you what impact this game had and how England got pantsed on worldwide stage for once

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
