Interestingly, back in 1895 there was a 36 mile race held on the River Cam at Ely

They still do skating there, I think there are specially-built shallow lakes.

Another dominant performance for Daleman. And a rather anonymous tournament for the Dutch boys.

So many 4th places for Germany ... Maira Jasch finished 4th three times. Sonnekalb looks like the biggest male talent at the moment, he was very close to winning 2 individual golds (1000 m and 1500 m). I don't think that Germany ever had a talent like him. He can come back next year and finish the job. At this rate he could qualify for the olympics in 2026 as an 18 year old and make some waves there. Hopefully he can improve to something like 35.5/1:09.5/1:46.5 next season.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.
    • That quota I’ve been told by an athlete aiming to qualify who I know online.
    • Has the quota for Canada been offically confirmed anyway, or is that just a rumour? I can't find anything on google about it (nor the suggested quota for England's athletes someone posted earlier).   12 per gender would make sense (it's roughly what Canada sent to Birmingham). 12 overall seems dumb.
    • Some sports have qualification systems   3x3 basketball (wheelchair) Para-cycling Powerlifting Weightlifting
    • In the past few games, Canada (and other nations) was given an overall athlete quota which they then divided it through the various sports.
    • Whose decision was this, Team Canada's or the Organising committes?
