Josh 7,818 Posted June 6, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2023 (edited) 2023 ISA Surf Games are happening now. Cody Young with a solid chance at an Olympic quota (11.11%), currently in Repechage 10. African men's quota went to Jordy Smith, but he'll probably qualify through the CT, and therefore the quota will be reallocated to the next highest-ranked unqualified athlete here. Spain, France, Mexico x2, Japan x2 and Peru x2 are the other countries in contention. Edited June 7, 2023 by Josh james89 and intoronto

Josh 7,818 Posted June 6, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted June 6, 2023 Erin Brooks also advances to Repechage 11, with a total score of 11.44 (6.77+4.67). She's believed to be one of Canada's most promising athletes so watch out for her on the Road to Paris 2024/LA 2028.
james89 538 Posted June 7, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2023 This is a sport I know very little about, are there legitimate more chances for Brooks and Young to qualify for Paris 2024?

For Brooks absolutely. She may even qualify as early as the 2023 Pan Am Games, but even if she doesn't she'll still have another chance at the 2024 ISA Surf Games. Before this event, I would say no chance at Paris 2024 for Cody Young, however, with him overperforming massively here, could now see it happening. You also have the sisters Sanoa/Mathea Olin, who are also ones to watch out for. Edited June 7, 2023 by Josh
