New format isn't really about what kind of specialists win, it's creating a competition that makes at least some kind of sense (thanks to global warming I guess? :p).

But anyway, names like Aerni and Hadalin won WCh medals even though they don't compete in speed events whatsoever. In fact, the ONLY reason why they won these medals is because they were extremely lucky to find themselves 25th-30th after downhill. That's it.

New format still gives advantage to slalom skiers (as ever), but at least now the jokers like them will not get rewarded with perfect slalom conditions for their poor downhill runs.

Well yeah, if it wasn't clear: I like the new format and I like that, in theory, slalom skiers have harder conditions on the slalom. Just today wasn't a very perfect example with both Brignone and Holdener being all the way in the top of the super-G rankings - and Vlhova was well on her way to being in there as well.

That must be clearly the most easiest and rhythmic slalom run we´ve seen in the world cup circuit for a while

I guess the 2nd run will be built differently and much more harder just by default

Vlovha won :woot::clap: And now is only at 80 points from Shiffrin in the slalom world cup, it's almost impossible... But why not?

lol they messed up the anthem during the podium playing only the second stanza, somehow they accidentally missed the main first part of the anthem, perhaps the DJ had another national anthem prepared

Zagreb & Flachau are like the two flattest slaloms on tour. I don't see Vlhova winning the globe esp. with that one DNF she has.

So apparently the last time Shiffrin lost 2 slaloms in a row was the last slalom of season 2016/17 in Aspen and opening slalom of season 2017/18 in Levi both won by Vlhová.

but the last tme she lost 2 slaloms back to back was in the 2014/15 season lol.

Yeah, no way the DJ had the Slovak and US anthems prepared in a women's slalom race.... :p

A real war between Shiffrin´s coach and Vlhová´s coach broke out right now

Livio Magoni accused the American coach of deliberately building the second run only the way that Petra would not succeed. In particular, he set up the crossing gate at the place where Petra had fallen out of Flachau slalom two years ago...

Mikaela Shiffrin immediatelly denied the accusations during the press conference and I think I can believe her,

In the other side, the Shiffrin staff accused Magoni that for money he sent people to the slopes, where Mikaela trains  to shoot a video of her rides.

Magoni himself denied that and was really really pissed of as you can see from his  "too much" hard and sharp words ::facepalm:

Quote

I don't have time or people to do it. I remained surprised after hearing this information in the medias. We don't have time for these stupid things on the team. I think the Americans are showing that they don´t know losing. They should learn it. I'm done with them, I won't talk to them anymore. I told them at the Captain's Meeting in Zauchensee. I won't look into these false faces in front of me,

the words he choosed (being really angry obviously isn´t an excuse) weren't really appropriate for sure, but from his expression I think I can also trust him

well, the backstages of the worlds top sport is really "interesting" :p

It wasn't a great edition, with no big favourite singers like Mengoni in 2024 or Giorgia in 2025 (who lost!). • Thanks for the amazing work on the spreadsheet. If my eye's read correctly you expect  to get a quota in Sprint (M) canoeing . This will be historic, if time permits could you elaborate a bit please. What are the chances we get to hold on to the quota place ? Is their a risk of missing out? Thanks! I don't follow canoeing much so had a hard time simulating the qualification scenarios. Thanks!
