the wikipedia page is the only place to find the medallists so far.

for the whole results list I fear we'll have to wait quite a while

p.s. :IRL Nguyen won the bronze medal in C&J in the women's -49kg ;)

Thanks. Was looking for written confirmation of Nguyen’s medal. Our first ever at this level. Her brother is a badminton Olympian for Ireland so it would a very cool story to have brother and sister at the Paris Olympics in badminton and weightlifting. Hard to think of two more different sports

Long way to go in the complicated ranks of course!

Useful one indeed. :yes

Ads are annoying, must say that.

Georgia's tactics worked out greatly in bringing Shota Mishvelidze down a category. Hi did a much stronger result at 61, then what he did at 67 last year. Deserved gold, though this Italian kid Massidda pushed it very close. Looks like there is a surge in Italy for weightlifting, as new candidates for medals are coming to the big stage.

actually, I'm a bit disappointed by Massidda...he missed 2 lifts in the snatch (keeping himself 5kg below his PB set at the last World Champs) that cost him the gold in the Olympic Total.

he's the kind of guy who's always on the edge, always at risk of bombing out...I prefer a better tactician like Pizzolato for the good of my heart...

it might be a bit harsh, but I'm looking at too many results being close (when not better) to the old scores, those we know very well how they've been made. :mumble:

and I'm seeing also too many improvements by huge, huge margin...and not by naturally growing youngsters...

if this is the weightlifting "new deal", I'm better :zip: and turn my head the other side...
