Whose idea was it to make the U23 race a qualification event? What is this, men's football?

Not as bad as when that same IF made the ‘B’ World Championships an Olympic qualifying event...

it's because at the world champs many young regulars of the world cup senior races would eventually come back to their age class to try and get some medals (which they're unlikely to get among the senior ranks)...

it's to make it fair for them in terms of OQR (not forcing them to take a painful decision...going for youth medals or for a few -but maybe decisive- points in the OQR?) and for UCI to have the best possible U-23 race (with all the best riders in that age class)...

Fossesholm :yikes:

She ended up competing in the wrong cross-country apparently, since she's one of the world's biggest talents in cross-country skiing instead of cross-country mountainbiking...I thought :d

She needs to try cross-country running, then she will have medals in all three...:champion:

She would not be the first dual CC Ski/Bike Olympian, though: one of the Czech girls has done both, can’t remember her name. Never near the medals in either, though.

Most common solo double is speed-skating / cycling, quite a few have done that.  (I’m not counting athletics / bobsleigh crew, extremely common.)

Kateřina Nash. She competed at 5 OG (2x Winter in CC Skiing 1998 and 2002 and 3x Summer in MTB Cycling 1996, 2012 and 2016)

Another Czech famous for competing at both games is Eva Vrabcová Nývltová (3x Winter in CC Skiing 2006, 2010 and 2014 and Marathon in Rio 2016)

    • Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2025      Thank you Slovenia! Argentina get their second 12 points of this year's contest to keep their hopes of a podium finish very much alive.   Big points also for Italy who become the 3rd nation to breach the 100-point barrier and they close the gap to France in 2nd.   That concludes the third session of this year's TISC Annual. Ireland maintain the lead as they have from the very start of the contest. Their lead now stands at 28 points which is sizeable though not insurmountable with 8 juries still to vote, including Ireland.   We will take a 1 hour 30 minute break now and will resume the fourth and final session at 19:00 GMT.      Juries Voted: 26/34    1  Ireland 2 136  18  Guatemala   53  2  France 4 108  19  Netherlands   51  3  Italy 11 102  20  Tunisia   50  4  Argentina 12 96  21  Denmark   49  5  Romania   85  22  Poland   48  6  Albania 9 85  23  Sweden 1 46  7  Spain   84  24  Lithuania 3 45  8  Germany 7 84  25  Malta 5 43  9  Canada   74  26  Turkey 10 43  10  Mexico   73  27  Greece   37  11  Serbia   66  28  Slovenia   36  12  Kazakhstan 8 65  29  China   34  13  Portugal   65  30  Bulgaria   32  14  Great Britain 6 63  31  Indonesia   30  15  United States   62  32  Slovakia   28  16  Ukraine   57  33  Brazil   28  17  Israel   55  34  India   15
