Okay, a twist in the "re-draw case". According to the Danish media, TV 2 SPORT, Kate Foo Kune, who was removed from the draw, has been suspended from all badminton since July due to an ongoing doping case. :yikes:

As a result, BWF initially conducted a draw with a player who themselves had suspended.

According to several sources close to Kate Foo Kune, both the A and B test have turned out to be positive.

Damn, Kate Foo Kune was my favorite player . She didn’t need to dope. What a poor player, absolutely dumb decision. Well, here ends a guaranteed Olympic spot for :MRI.

Thanks!

Still wondering why BWF don't just explain it at the first hand lol

There are lots of last minute withdrawals from playing in Basel World Championship 2019. Will there be any replacement of players for those players who have withdrawn from playing? Or will it just be a walkover match? Any idea?

There will be no replacements. If your opponent withdrew, it's a walkover. I already know that :DEN Jan Ø Jørgensen is through to the second round because :FRA Brice Leverdez has withdrawn.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases

It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
