there's a good chance that the World Championships will have to change date and site.

there are strong rumors about moving the event in :BRA Rio De Janeiro at the end of September, just after the World Cup stage already scheduled in the 2016 Olympic City in the middle of September.

more news coming in the next weeks.

So these start tomorrow. If I see it correctly, all 12 individual Olympic events will award 4 quotas each here.

The 12 individual Olympic events

17.08

Men's 10m Air Pistol

Women's 10m Air Pistol

18.08

Women's Skeet

19.08

Men's 10m Air Rifle

Men's Skeet

Women's 10m Air Rifle

20.08

Women's 25m Pistol

Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions

21.08

Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions

22.08

Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol

24.08

Women's Trap

Men's Trap

We (Hungary) should win at least one quota here. We are still far from our target of 4 shooting quotas, we only got one male rifle quota so far. We should win one more male rifle quota, and 1 women's rifle and 1 women's pistol quota eventually.

It looks like the qualification has been changed for shooting. Originally, athletes must have reached the finals in order to gain the quota, but now it looks like athletes can qualify based on the qualification round in the event that fewer than four eligible athletes reach the finals which is what it was at previous Olympics.

    • There is a saying to never trust a Russian in gymnastics. Well, ex-Russian turned Bulgarian Elvira Krasnobaeva is transferring now to Armenia.   The "official" reason is for personal, family matters, but in reality it's most likely because she wasn't selected for Paris, which angered her parents. Even though she is only 16, had her breakthrough just this year and started making mistakes, when they amped up the difficulty.   Our Federation's President Iliana Raeva said today, that she received calls also from France and Azerbaijan about Elvira's mother basically auctioning her. Raeva mentioned, that Krasnobaeva was going to be a vocal point in the next Olympic cycle, but now she can hit the road and missed her chance to ever compete for Bulgaria, even if she wanted to in the future.    We are also going to make a new Group from next season. After the disappointment in Paris, 4 out of the 5 girls announced their retirement.
    • true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though
    • The 4th best team in the world beating the 3rd best team in the world is not a huge surprise though.
    • I’ve been recently introduced by some friends to cricket (or the t20 version of it, at least) and actually liked it so I’m following the World Cup that’s happening during this month
