There is no more one to one mapping between World / Continental Championships and Olympic Games weight categories, for Men.

That means conversion clarifications are required, in the case that World Championships will be used for qualification events (provided Boxing and AIBA get the green light from IOC).

The five categories announced by IOC a couple of years ago remain (51, 57, 60, 69, 75) - two more than Rio 2016.

Thanks!

So,usual Bach's philosophy, equalizing both sexes by reducing men categories and even by ejecting disciplines alltogether. I respect women to the highest extent but i wouldnt say that any boxing fan will watch women bouts rather than men.

USA Boxing were big supporters of the new AIBA president.  I think they may be delusional if they believe this is the real schedule.

You gotta get used to this kind of filthy "politically correctness"; that's the future we'll be experiencing in every domain.

On-topic: have you seen women's boxing at heavyweight categories? it's priceless as a source of fun

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?
