dcro 10,210 Posted March 17, 2020 #1331 Share Posted March 17, 2020 That's funny. Abe said today that the Olympics will not be postponed at all. #banbestmen

Two years are more than enough for the qualifications. They will just start right after Tokyo. Ice hockey disagrees (not like that matters in this case because winter/summer and their system is dumb anyway) .
Agger 1,662 Posted March 17, 2020 #1333 Share Posted March 17, 2020 I must say that the more I think about it, I hope the Olympics will be postponed. Even if we beat the corona within the next few months, I would think that it would have major impact on the quality when more and more athletes are forced to improvise with lockdowns in force. Federer91 2,793 Posted March 17, 2020 #1334 Share Posted March 17, 2020 September/October or bust! If they can't priorities the Games over other lousy championships, then better cancel them.

dcro 10,210 Posted March 17, 2020 #1336 Share Posted March 17, 2020 I would much rather prefer October than 2021 (or 2022 ). This year was supposed to be a final chance for many athletes (not to mention horses...). Sindo 1 #banbestmen

heywoodu 15,135 Posted March 17, 2020 #1338 Share Posted March 17, 2020 It's too early to decide yet. Right now, obviously it shouldn't happen, but I'm glad they are at least going to wait until May by all accounts. Olympian1010 and LowerSaxony 2 . I'm also for the second half of September 2021 (October is not the best period...remember, in Japan they also have to cope with typhoon season...look at what happened to 2019 rugby world cup because they chose to play in October)... but I'm also OK with any decision that doesn't cancel the Games and/or force them to be held still in the middle of the virus' crisis...
