I don't think that will be much of a problem. Two years are more than enough for the qualifications. They will just start right after Tokyo.

Ice hockey disagrees :p

(not like that matters in this case because winter/summer and their system is dumb anyway)

I must say that the more I think about it, I hope the Olympics will be postponed. Even if we beat the corona within the next few months, I would think that it would have major impact on the quality when more and more athletes are forced to improvise with lockdowns in force.

I would much rather prefer October than 2021 (or 2022 ).

This year was supposed to be a final chance for many athletes (not to mention horses...).

September/October or bust! If they can't priorities the Games over other lousy championships, then better cancel them.

it's too early...I do really think we need at least 1 year to get out and then somehow recover at least partially from this disaster...

and it's not question of giving priority to the Olympics rather than any other sport event in the world, but just getting back in the right mood and in the best possible condition to enjoy an event like the Olympic Games...and it doesn't matter if we look at them from the spectator's perspective or the athetes' or any other stakleholder's, as we are all on the same boat right now...

personally, I hope 1 full year from the orginal date should be enough, but if they go with a 2-year delay, it's still better than cancelling everything...

It's too early to decide yet. Right now, obviously it shouldn't happen, but I'm glad they are at least going to wait until May by all accounts.

I'm also for the second half of September 2021 (October is not the best period...remember, in Japan they also have to cope with typhoon season...look at what happened to 2019 rugby world cup because they chose to play in October)...

but I'm also OK with any decision that doesn't cancel the Games and/or force them to be held still in the middle of the virus' crisis...

Not sure if it was the NOC or the biathlon federation (I assume the latter) that put him in the Livigno training 'world' with a former Italian biathlete as coach, but they can definitely also be blamed:  almost everyone involved in that shitshow got the motivation just sucked out of them by the methods and shitty atmosphere until they either retired or changed country
