Only in the small race? I remember this in the Giro d'Italia few seasons ago...

Back in Seoul 1988, we had a good pair in canoe sprint K2.  Philippe Boccara et Pascal Boucherit were actually world champions in 1987 and from my understanding favorite to win the gold medal in South Korea.

 

All good and well, except they didn't make the semi-finals, they ... felt asleep before the start of the race and came too late...

 

Fun fact, France still has to win a gold medal in canoe sprint 32 years later

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI22Px-SvE4  the dramactic 1996 modern penthatlon olympic finish 12 years after a swede lost out on olympic gold in  the same event because he tripped up on a potted plant 100 metres from the finish 4;52 for the second video for the trip i don t know how i put the second video in lol.

That one time Austrian Volleyball team went to Ukraine to play a friendly match and were greeted with German anthem and Latvian flag :wall:

      Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.

      Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
