- :CHN Su Yiming (snowboard)

- :JPN Kokomo Murase (snowboard)

- :JPN Rikuto Tamai (diving)

- :CHN Chen Yuxi (diving)

- :CHN Quan Hongchan (diving)

- :USA Claire Curzan (swimming)

- :USA Katie Grimes (swimming)

- :USA Leah Hayes (swimming)

- :ITA Benedetta Pilato (swimming)

- :ROU David Popovici (swimming)

- :CAN Summer McIntosh (swimming)

- :AUS Mollie O'Callaghan (swimming)

- :USA Erriyon Knighton (athletics)

- :CHN Wei Xiaoyuan (artistic gymnastics)

- :JPN Hazuki Watanabe (artistic gymnastics)

- :GBR Jessica Gadirova (artistic gymnastics)

- :BEL Sarah Chaari (taekwondo)

Someone i didn't mention (since she won her gold in a non-olympic weight category):

:USA Amit Elor (born 2004)

This year she won the world U20, world U23 and senior world championships, becoming the youngest world champion in american wrestling history. I am no wrestling expert, but her results suggest that she might be the next big thing in women's wrestling.

This is a fantastic initiative, though it's going to be super hard to choose.

I agree...and that "only 1 athlete/team from your Nation" doesn't help at all...:nopompom:

I already have 6 of them in my list...and it was really hard to leave some others out...

in some categories, I'm really in trouble to make my choice (I think I'm not going to vote at all in the Breakthrough category).

As some votes are coming in, I see a lot of similarities between Breakthrough of the Year and Youth Athlete, as I predicted that could be some confusion in these categories. I think the best solution right now would be to make the nominees in Youth Athlete ineligible in Breakthrough, and maybe rethink these categories next year :mumble:

    • I used to think Johnston(e) - from some place John build (aka stone for building something hehe).   I'm not familiar if Scottish or Irish clans are named after such clan founder or a place?
    • i'm triggered,legitimately thought kennedy 2.0 happened,just way more out of nowhere
