Anyone have the info if Eurosport will cover the Games like it did with the OG on the web with multiple streams etc... ?

Because a look on our public TV schedule inform me they are going to show only a very few of the games (basically only canoeing and athletics... not even the opening ceremony ffs...) that´s really disappointing :(

I think EBU has the broadcasting rights, which means that the Games should be free to air in the EU.

I am not entirely sure how EBU will live stream it. I think everything should be live on https://www.eurovisionsports.tv/ , but for now I don't see anything there, so we will see...

According to this from a year ago Eurosport / Discovery do have the rights.

I remember reading that there would be a “dedicated platform” for streaming the Games. Maybe EOC.tv or Olympics.com will come into play?

I just hope it’s accessible for users outside the continent. We’re always the ones most excited for this event anyways! :p

AMP football, chess, motor racing, mountain running and sumo are confirmed as side sports, where medalists wont be counted to total medal tally.

The return of demonstration sports. Not a bad idea actually, used to like the local colour that sometimes came with them.

Ps Orienteering has now been added, and there's a stand along but recognised ESports thing happening.

I believe that no matter which company has the broadcasting rights, we will always find our way to watch the competition 😁😁

It's just been announced on the Official facebook who is broadcasting - Eurosport are doing it Europe wide, probably on an Olympics model (we should probably recognise more openly the link between the 5 continental games and the Olympics - it would help those continental games)

In UK BBC also have broadcast rights, which they already have for the European athletics and LEN events, so they'll certainly show something .

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
