All would have depended on who England would have replaced their coach when it became a Great Britain team. Maybe Alex Ferguson?

Expand

In 1986 it would still be Robson, Ferguson was nowhere near to assume that position yet (maybe Alan Hansen would have played for Team GB though :p ).

Just noticed it now, but what's with this weird schedule where CRO - BRA is on Friday already, whereas the quarter finalists who played a day earlier get to play their QF a day later? :yikes:

Now in both semi's you'll have one team which had almost a week rest and another which had just four days...

Maybe 4 British teams not one better team means a stronger chance for :ALG to do well?

Expand

Cheating in Africa is enormous uncontrollable , tgat's why we missed this edition ...but if we apply your method : ALG could send 15 teams , sure at least 1 will qualify ...but NOOOO we are not cheaters

It's not long along you complained :GBR  have 4 teams in the World Cup but the truth is it weakened the UK chances of winning a major championship.

You play as 1 team in the Olympic games helping you to collect more medals ...another british trick ;)

I don't know if @LuizGuilherme has seen it, or other Brazilian users. But there was a guy who bet R$2,00 in the first four matches at this round of 16. He decided to end it after get the exactly correct prediction of the victories by Argentina and Netherlands. He got almost R$500,00. But if had stayed it until the matches of France and England (And he was again with correct predictions) He would have won R$152k  I don't know if it is fake, but it didn't look to

I posted this a couple of weeks ago, there was in Slovakia a guy who bet 44 matches with an eventual win of 300.000 EUR

When his match results started turning green one by one until it reached consecutive correctly predicted 22 matches, he decided to not risk anymore and returned (sold) the ticket back to the betting company for 4.000 EUR ...

Imagine that, later he found out that he correctly predicted also all the remaining games  I would jump out of the window in his place :p

LOL

Algeria couldn't even qualify with an united team. It wouldn't have qualified with any of the 2/5/15/100 Z-level teams.

Fun picture: this was Paulo Bento in 2002 playing in that infamous match with Korea where Portugal got eliminated (plus a bunch of players started fighting, one of them even punching the referee )

It's just that none of them wants to play for the national team, judging by...you know, none of the 'good players' being in the national team, apparently.

    • Some Lithuanian discus results from back home got another men over 60 with Armandas Miliauskas finishing with a new pb of 60.40[he's 24 so i'm not really cheering this a whole lot,but hey he's crossed that barrier now],of course Andrius Gudžius won the comp plenty of fouls as is usual for him early in the season and at home but a 65.77 is a solid opener for someone who had no ramona plans ,it's by a few cm better than what Ceh did at the european throwing cup and actually exactly what janssen threw to win there.
