Didn't like the comment of MF about Pidruchnyi on French TV ...

When asked about the winner (the interviewer raised obvious doubts, shame on him) he responded "congrats to him, until proven otherwise" :mumble:

1) He shouldnt have said it publicly.

2) I think we all feel the same about Pidruchnyi.

3) He will never get caught, considering how IBU is dealing with doping.

Like none of these athletes care about the politics. They couldn't recognize Odessa from Omsk anyway.

It could have been worse if we had a male Kuzmina out there so a Russian competing under a different flag with those kind of results. Since Shipullin has retired I guess MF needs to find a new punchbag. Might as well be Loginov and/or Pidruchnyi. It doesn't surprise me a lot.

Wasnt Loginov banned for 2 years before? Would make it a completely different story imo ...

Yes he was but if Justin Gatlin got a third chance then why we should object to Loginov getting a second? :mumble:Lifetime bans after one-time offense isn't gonna happen no matter what MF says.

Problem is Justin Gatlin should never have gotten his 15th chance

Just noticed in replay that Garanichev threw his chances for medal by doing two penalty loops after final shooting, but only missing one target. Maybe wouldn't have gotten a medal, probably wouldn't, but he'd still be there with QFM and Tarjei Boe.

Brain fart? Or perhaps he actually has missed twice then, but we got wrong indicators in coverage?

Anastasiya Kuzmina and Laura Dahlmeier both will skip the Individual.

But they are in the start list on https://biathlonresults.com  ?

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
