Wow! This is hard to believe.

Which, if they are not specifically speaking about women's GS is factually not true. Amazing how paid journalist often don't do their research.

Marie-Michele Gagnon - :AND Soldea - AC win in 2016

Marie-Michele Gagnon - :AUT Zauchensee - AC win in 2014

Erin Mielzynski - :GER Ofterschwang - SL win in 2012

Emily Brydon - :SUI St. Moritz - SG win in 2008

Britt Janyk - :USA Aspen - DH win in 2007

That second run from Marco Odermatt was something else. Attacking full gas from the start to the finish, there were several instances where he no could, but should have wiped out. He carried way to much speed in so corners making him lift off into the air. Watching him today you can clearly see he is a level above everyone else in giant slalom this year.

Also the fans were amazing. At times it felt like you were watching a football derby, especially when she Swiss were racing and getting the lead. For me this is the best race this season so far.

Been in Adelboden ten years or so ago for the giant slalom and slalom and yes, the atmosphere is like nothing else. Absolutely fantastic, and everyone gets cheered on hard by the fans :cheer:

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
