Shane Ryan and John Shortt seem to be entitled to invitations having achieved the OCT. Any word if they will get to compete?

Presumably yes as Swim Ireland said they would be inclined to accept OCT invites given the high level needed to actually achieve those standards.

So Ryan could compete in the 100 free because he got the OCT but not the 50m even though he achieved the OQT. I know there are rules but he’s going to be there anyway.

It would be utterly bizarre if that turned out to be the case and given Swim Ireland's strange decisions in the past, at this point who knows. But let's see when we get more info about the invited swimmers.

I don’t mean to sound harsh on some of the non-Irish posters on these forums but some of them are adamant on certain qualifications and then they’re shocked when it turns out they made a mistake.

Swim Ireland have said they’ll accept OCT invitations so let’s see if any happen

Ah yeah the system is so convoluted and all national teams including relay teams need to be finalised, and universality quotas allocated and acceoted/rejected before any OCT invites can be officially offered. People probably making educated calculations on OCT invites but might be a but longer before officially confirmed

What have we (Olympic Federation) left to confirm?

The reallocations and the relay squads in Athletics

Any OCT invites (may not happen) in swimming

The golf team

road cycling team

Think everything else is officially confirmed?

    • Suspect strongly that the Sultan of  is behind Global Wushu!     Another one is long distance & ultra triathlon.  There are literally millions being paid out in prize money to attract big name athletes from several sports, huge FTA TV coverage but seemingly no prospect of any profit.   And the classic is obstacle racing, which has effectively bought up the ownership of Modern Pentathlon.
    • apparently the Japanese organizers rejected OCA's nice request    now OCA is ordering them to do so in a not-so-nice language https://oca.asia/media/attachments/memberships_subcommittee/5/Decision_-_103rd_OCA_EB_Meeting_5ypY8y4.pdf   the last line is very interesting   I knew this for a while, for example that's why Jujjtsu is included in all of OCA events (despite being the worst sport to watch) but good to see OCA admit this. so with the corrupt OCA you can buy your way in. how much they paid the OCA officials for this ?   OK I know Qatar is financially supporting Padel (and UAE is paying everything for Jujitsu) but who is behind Teqball?  ! I don't think Thailand can do that.
    • Important information on team Aerials.   There is no AIN`s team at the start list of the world cup despite of the fact that belorussians have enough athletes to have a team.   https://medias4.fis-ski.com/pdf/2026/FS/8119/2026FS8119SLF1.pdf
    • By the way. It looks like no AIN`s will be in biathlon by the start of the Olympics. Russians filed an appeal to CAS to get AIN statuses in biathlon. But IBU did not agree to have hearings with short procedure. So the decisons are not expected before the end of qulifying period. (FIS could do the same but its top-officials prefer to help russians be back as quick as possible).   I would like to see Dolidovich at the Games. Because she is a real refugee of the relatively high level.
