Probably is because "Changing this option will not affect content you are already following".

So you can go here https://totallympics.com/followed/ and change the notification settings for threads you are already following :yes

@Sindo

Recently I was thinking and wondering whether there is any kind of safeguard to continue Totallympics in case for whatever reason you can't do it anymore? I mean, imagine some idiot steps into his car after drinking alcohol and hits you on the street. Obviously the chance of such a thing happening isn't that high, but is there any sort of backup plan in place, like someone else to step in and assume the role of admin, run the forum or at the very least make sure it stays hosted and such?

I know of course this probably won't be an issue anytime soon (or at least I hope so), but I thought it'd be good to ask if there is any sort of Plan B in an emergency situation, or if Totallympics would then suddenly just disappear forever?

This is a good point, and no right now there is not.

If someone wants to be a candidate to save Totallympics in case I die, I get kidnapped or I won the lottery and run to Bahamas, please contact me :d

Running to the Bahamas without notifying anyone here would be a major dick move :d

Personally I'd try and make sure there is at least one person besides yourself (preferably someone who already has an admin/moderator role here or something) who can for example access things needed to make sure the hosting is taken care of. I've seen it before on another forum: the guy in charge suddenly disappeared, nobody had a clue how to access the necessary things to keep the forum running and so quickly, the forum was dead and buried and nobody could even try to stop it. That would just be a huge shame..

    • Nah, I don't think that we'll have some problems.
    • The last time this happened - all three athletes on the podium had zero podiums before - was Les Saisies sprint in December 1990: Uschi Disl, Elena Melnikova (future Sergei Tchepikov's wife) & Kerstin Moring. The latter two never finished on the World Cup podium again. This was also the race where Disl became the second youngest World Cup winner ever (currently down to third because of Neuner).
    • In general almost all Fisi sports have been doing terribly this season. One debacle after another and the Colturi case completes the scale of embarrassment. Apart from single star like Goggia, Brignone or Pellegrino, only the alpine snowboard looks good.
    • Unfortunately the Italian men's team is poorly prepared for the season. Everyone is in terrible shooting form. Somewhere a mistake was made in the preparations. We are recording a big regression compared to the previous season. It`s becoming more and more likely that we will not stand on the podium even once this season (I can't remember the last time something like that happened). In the Nations Cup we are in 6th place and we may lose 6 starting places in the World Cup from next season. I`m increasingly worried about what will happen in the Olympic season. Without Vittozzi returning to top form, we completly will not count.    In general our entire winter season looks very bad: biathlon as above, cross-country skiing - still only Pellegrino, luge - poor form, alpine skiing without Goggia and Brignone doesn`t exist.

    • A few updates from the IFA after last month's Board of Directors meeting.   Looks like there will be no host quota for  China at the 2025 World Games. This is surprising after the IFA went to Chengdu last year to put on a clinic. No doubt that given a year  China has the resources and athletes to field a team that would be competitive in the placement matches.    Namibia will replace  China on the women's side. While  will replace  on the men's side.     Namibia finished 8th at the last Women's World Championships, while  New Zealand finished 11th at the 2023 Men's World Championship.
