How Many Medals do You Expect from Your Nation at the Summer Olympic Games 2016?

I will just list all the people that can make a top 8, whether they can win a medal is another thing...

Athletes who imposed themselves a medal as objective:

*Judo -48kg

*Hockey W

*Football M

Athletes who can perfectly win a medal in a good week/day:

*Boxing -91kg

*Hockey M

*Rugby M

*Sailing 470 M

*Sailing Nacra

*Sailing 49er FX

*Shooting Skeet M

Long-shot chances:

*Canoeing K1 200

*Golf M

*Volleyball M

I only want one gold, nothing else. Even let's say 6 medals without gold will be a disappointment.

Well, with all the naturalised sportsmen in our Olympic team, I don't know what to expect:mumble:. Most probably, we can count on the "traditional" medal gaining sports, such as:

1) Wrestling (2-3 gold medals, couple of bronze medals)

2) Judo (may be 1 gold medal and 1-2 bronze)

3) Taekwondo (1 gold medal from Iranian guy and may be 1 bronze medal)

4) Boxing (1 gold medal and couple of bronze medals). I hope there won't be any scandals and judges will not "assist" our guys in getting the medals:fingers:

Should be 6-8
These should be sure shot.
Shooting: 2-3

Wrestling: 1

Boxing: 1

Badminton: 1

Archery: 1-2

Other chances are:
Men's Hockey, Tennis (MD, XD), Golf

Dark horse:

Judo, Gymnastics

7-8 gold medals, 27-28 total medals.

We don't have a lot of clear favourites though (1-2), but in a ton of events we have a decent medal chance. 2 gold medals wouldn't surprise me (but given the possibilities it would of course disappoint me), but neither would 9-10 gold medals. 17 medals wouldn't surprise me, but neither would 30.

.

Czech republic: 10

Athletics (2-3)

Canoeing-sprint (2-3)

Canoeing-slalom (1-2)

Rowing (1-2)

Cross country (1)

Modern Pentathlon, shooting, judo (1)

I really don't know how we will do this time but as always boxing will be the sport that will probably decide how successful we are.

I think 3 medals is a realistic result, so one of each colour (1-1-1) might be the most realistic to predict.

Our big chances are as follows:

I am hoping at least one of this group can claim gold:

Katie Taylor (women's -60kg boxing)

Michael Conlan (men's -56kg boxing)

Paddy Barnes (men's -49kg boxing)

Joe Ward (men's -81kg boxing)

Outside of those four, our medal chances are not so strong, probably these are our best outside hopes:

Michael O'Reilly (men's -75kg boxing)

Brendan Irvine (men's -52kg boxing)

Daniel Martin (men's road race cycling)

Men's Lightweight Double Sculls (rowing)

Sanita Puspure (women's single sculls rowing)

If any of those 5 achieved a medal if would be a surprise, though probably unlikely to happen.

And we have very small chances in team eventing, men's modern pentathlon, individual showjumping and golf.... but these chances are so slim.

So I'm sticking to a prediction of 3 medals, one of each colour.

Most likely result for Chile IMO: 1 medal: Men's Artistic Gymnastics - Floor (T. González)

If being optimistic: Men's Floor (T. González), Women's Triathlon (B. Riveros)

If being very, very, VERY optimistic: Men's Floor (T. González), Men's Vault* (T. González), Women's Triathlon (B. Riveros), Women's Shot Put (N. Ducó), Women's Skeet (F. Crovetto).

* Not sure if González will do Vault in the end tho, but if he does he might have a chance for medal.
