However, apparently the life guards did nothing when she started sinking, which caused her coach to jump in. That may be the biggest story here.

Why even have life guards, one might wonder then...luckily at least the coach was paying attention.

Synchro Swimming seems to be second only to Isle of Man TT Racing in its willing acceptance of the possibility of sudden death.

The newly decisive FINA decide swimmers dying in the pool is not the image they want for Artistic Swimming, exclude Anita “Mad Dog” Alvarez from the Final.

      I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->

I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)

      Confirmation about the broadcasting rights.   If I'm reading it right, for most of Europe it will now be exclusive to Discovery/Eurosport or whatever brand they use.     For outside Europe, it's on YouTube.       Surely. Her first coach now works in russia (and grandma lives in russia according to Sereda). They were in contact and despite of full funding from  the girl decided to become the star of russian propaganda.  As I saw in X: "It took the Russians four years of war to find a relatively well-known sports personality to carry out such a propaganda operation."
