Belgium will inaugurate their new biathlon/cross country arena at Elsenborn.

 

Fabien Claude, Thierry Langer, Michael Roesch, Lotte Lie, Haavard Gutuboe Bogetveit, and Jean-Guillaume Beatrix will all be there.

 

25 June Schedule

12:00 : Youth Biathlon (2003/2006) and (2007/2009)

14:00: Junior and Senior Prologues (2000/2022) and (1999 et avant)

16:00: Children's races 

17:00: Junior and Senior Mass-start

Some shocking news to me:

• the IBU World Championships will no longer be included in the World Cup Total Score. Thus, there are no more World Cup points collected at World Championship events. This is in line with IBU’s general direction to make the World Championships a stand-alone flagship event

• there will be no more dropped results in the World Cup Total Score. Every competition in the World Cup will count toward the Total Score

• the point system for the Total Score and the Discipline Scores will be adjusted to increase the value between the top results ensuring that if athletes are forced to miss a race due to sickness they will still have the possibility of being able to win the Crystal Globes

Weird, I remember always hating the fact that the Olympic Games don't count towards the World Cup total score. 

 

Since we're not a medal winning nation, the World Championships are going to be reduced to funding games for us, which is sad, because we usually got quite a few world cup points since we were timing our form for the championships every year. Now, those rare top 20s won't feel that much special without any points behind them.

Wow, a federation making systematic changes that actually make sense :d 

 

Hope is not yet gone from the world. Especially the world championships no longer counting for the World Cup is fantastic. It's the world championships, after all, one fights for world titles there and for World Cup points in World Cup races.

points a) and b) are great (and logical)...

 

point c) well, let's see how they manage to adjust the scores before giving any opinion...

      We have much more events and there may be no Russia in 2026 so most of the NOCs should improve. But not Poland i’m afraid

      I’ve had 2weeks long Olympic holidays each time since i graduated from the university in ancient times of year 2003   Both winter and summer. Always.   i had those olympic holidays in every job contract 😉

      For sure better for  one silver - I think it was Shelly Rudman, Skeleton.  Can definitely improve on that.   Still remember it as a good games, though - think it was the first time I took two weeks off work to watch a Winter Games.
