A preliminary ticket website has been released in case you haven't seen it.

https://tickets.paris2024.org/obj/media/FR-Paris2024/ticket-prices.pdf

It actually omits most of the finals.  I think they must be saving those for the big booking agencies.

I haven't gone over it too much but one new piece of information that was not, I think, previously known is that the indoor volleyball format will be men and women on alternating days with men going first.   Time to make version 2.0 of my schedule, incorporating @rafalgorka's catches of my errors.

The updated full schedule is below. One change I saw is that the times and venue (Lille) are set for prelims in basketball.  The finals tickets that aren't on sale yet will go on sale as single tickets in May- tickets in this round have to be bought in packs of 3.

Thanks for doing your version of the schedule, it will be helpful for me as I finalize my ticket preferences.

It's funny, I google "olympic schedule 2024" or some variant a couple of times a week to see if there are updates, and this has never come up!  So thanks!  Update coming!

That Mixed 35km Race Walk event instead of the 50km is still an unjustified crime from IAAF WA

The scheduling of the 4x400 heats and 400 final on the same day is really unfair for the smaller countries that can't rest their stars from the 4x400 heats.

I thought that it was impossible to make it worse than the last couple of Winter Games in terms of scheduling...

but here we have an absolute sh*t

personally, having Fencing and Swimming finals at the same time in the first week is a disaster, then we have to add Athletics in the weekend in the middle.

finally, in the second week, we have Wrestling, Taekwondo, Weightlifting, Athletics medal sessions and most of the team sports playoffs matches running at the same time in the 7.30/11 p.m. slot.

c'mon, man! :hairpull:

p.s. and also the Athletics schedule is just...crazy...

how can you run 4 times the 800m in 4 days always at their best?

and pretend that the athletes don't give themselves some kind of chemical help just to try and face that challenge?

The small countries with half decent 400m runners, one of which I live in, will probably have to concentrate on the mixed.

very odd scheduling though

    • I won't write about injuries (Fede) and non-sporting matters (Colturi), but the fact is that Italy has its worst start to the season in alpine skiing in over 10 years... Just one victory, and podiums- if any, they're mostly 3 places. We're also not leading in any of the season standings, no in the women's or men's categories. This isn't be it should be in an Olympic year in your country, where you're having your worst season in many years.
    • Plaisier blew 3 match darts and Ratajski comes back to win!
    • Yes, she was unlucky, but it could just as easily have happened during some training, like with Gut, etc. Brignone has been essentially injury-free throughout her long career, which is very rare in this sport. It's unfortunate that this happened after her best season ever and just 1 year before the Olympic Games in home, when she just missing of win the Olympic gold medal in her great career. With the gold in Cortina, she would have become a legend of Italian skiing, on par with Tomba. Now she's still the best Italian woman in history, but the miss of Olympic gold will likely haunt her for the rest of her life.
    • It sad to see this season, as I remember, that Fede last year was winning everywhere, when she competed and finished and now we haven't even managed a single podium in the giant slalom, and it'll probably stay that way until the end of the season. Without Fede and Bassino, unfortunately, we're out of good cards in this event. For me Goggia should probably skip the giant slalom at all, becouse she has no chance of a podium and she risks further injuries. If even Goggia finish 8th or 10th? What difference does it make? If she couldn't get a podium finish today with so many DNFs at the top skiers, she probably never do. Della Mea is OK this year, but let's be honest, she's not World Cup podium material. Overall, it's a sad picture, and we have a 0% chance of anything in Cortina unless a miracle happens in Brignone return.   We have two chances for Goggia in DH and SG + maybe a dark horse in Pirovano/Curtoni in SG. That's all. In technical events, we have a 0% chance for medal and that's sad. Our federation also lost Colturi in this situation... In any normal country, the head of such a federation should be dismissed for disciplinary reasons and this case should be investigated by the minister, or even the prime minister, but not in Italy...
    • Mikaela Shiffrin  off the podium today (Edit: Oops...I thought this was slalom, not Giant Slalom.).  Nina Astner  entered the 2nd run in 30th place, but had the best second run, jumping up 18 places to 12th.
    • Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel with a 5th place PB in Semmering GS!
    • Today RDC will defeat Senegal  and Tunisia 0-0 Nigeria
